DVD installation

1. Place the SketchBookPro DVD into your disc drive, this opens a Finder window.
2. Double-click to launch the installer.
3. Follow the instructions. Please note that during the installation process, if you do not accept the licensing conditions, the installation is terminated.

1. Download and double-click the disk image () file, .

The first time you open SketchBook, the product activation window appears.

1. Click Enter Serial Number to enter your serial number and product key.

   WARNING When pasting the serial number emailed to you, ensure there are no spaces anywhere within, before, or after the number. A space will cause the installation to fail. If in doubt, manually enter the serial number.

2. Click OK.

Besides going through the procedure above, there is another place where a serial number can be entered.

1. Select Help > Enter Serial Number to open the SketchBook Pro Product Activation window.
2. Enter the serial number and product key from the product packaging or online purchase confirmation, then click OK.

   NOTE If you don’t have a serial number, you can still use SketchBook by clicking Use Trial to install a 15 non-consecutive day trial version.

To improve performance, try the following suggestions:

• Right-click on the SketchBook application icon to select Properties. In the Compatibility tab, click Change settings for all users. In the Settings section, check Disable desktop compositing.
• Select Edit > Preferences to open the Preferences window. In the General tab, in the Graphics section, deselect Enable Rotate Canvas. Click OK. Restart Sketchbook to improve performance.

  NOTE When Enable Rotate Canvas is deselected, Rotate Canvas is not available.

• Cursor offset (Cintiq)

Part 1 - Wacom driver refresh

The following are steps to uninstall and purge your system of all loose Wacom files. This is a 3rd-party solution prescribed by Wacom. Autodesk does not endorse such a solution. You can find more details regarding driver cleansing in the following Wacom thread:

1. Uninstall the current Wacom Driver from your system.

Go to Wacom/Pen Tablet > Preference File Utility. Delete ALL.

1. Select Macintosh HD [your hard drive] > Applications > Wacom Tablet > Remove Wacom Tablet.

• Intuos – ensure the USB cable is connected to the system.
• Cintiq tablet – ensure it has power, video, and that the USB cable is connected to the system.
5. Now, go to http://www.wacom.com/downloads/drivers.php to download and install the latest driver from Wacom. Be sure to deactivate your antivirus before installing the tablet driver.
6. Then, go to Windows Device Manager and disable the Wacom Virtual HID device, and restart your computer.

At this point, the Wacom device should be tracking. If not, consult the Wacom Product Support Online.

Part 2 - Cintiq calibration

This section is only applies to Cintiq users. Before starting this section, you must complete steps 1 to 5 in Part 1.

You should now have all the drivers installed, the device hooked up to your system, and your stylus working. However, your Wacom Cintiq needs to be calibrated.

1. Access System Preferences.
2. Select Calibration.
3. From the Monitor pull down menu, select Cintiq.
4. Click the center of the cross hair with your stylus. Another cross hair appears in the lower right corner after clicking the first.
5. Click the center of the cross hair.
6. Click OK if satisfied with the results and close the Wacom Tablet window.

If for any reason the tip of the stylus does not line up, consult Wacom Product Support Online.

Part 3 – Intuos and Bamboo tablet setup

This section is only applies to Intuos and Bamboo tablet users. Before starting this section, you must complete steps 1 to 5 in Part 1.

Once that the tablet is connected and tracking properly, you need to set your mapping options.

1. Open your Wacom Tablet Properties. The Wacom Tablet Properties window appears.
2. Select the Mapping tab.
3. Set the following options:
• Orientation ExpressKeys Left
• Mode Pen
• Screen Area Full
• Force Proportions check
• Tablet Area Full

NOTE The most important option to have set is Force Proportion. This ensures you are drawing proportionally. For example, with Force Proportion NOT enabled, when you try to draw a circle, it could appear as an ellipse.

If for any reason the stylus does not track properly, consult Wacom Product Support Online.
