• For some types of license keys under Windows 7/8/2008, the product key is not stored in the Registry, and thus 'Product key was not found' message will be displayed.
• If you bought your computer with installed operating system, you may find the Windows product key appeared in ProduKey utility is different from the product key on your Windows CD. This problem is mostly reported with Dell computers.
• From unknown reason, the product key of Visual Stuido .NET is written in the Registry as Office XP product...
• In old versions of Office (Office 2000 and below), the 'Product Key' value is not available.

Translating ProduKey to other languages

1. Run ProduKey with /savelangfile parameter:
   ProduKey.exe /savelangfile
   A file named ProduKey_lng.ini will be created in the folder of ProduKey utility.
2. Open the created language file in Notepad or in any other text editor.
3. Translate all string entries to the desired language. Optionally, you can also add your name and/or a link to your Web site. (TranslatorName and TranslatorURL values) If you add this information, it'll be used in the 'About' window.
4. After you finish the translation, Run ProduKey, and all translated strings will be loaded from the language file.
   If you want to run ProduKey without the translation, simply rename the language file, or move it to another folder.

ProduKey is also available in other languages. In order to change the language of ProduKey, download the appropriate language zip file, extract the 'produkey_lng.ini', and put it in the same folder that you Installed ProduKey utility.

Why KeePass?
Today, you have to remember many passwords. You need a password for a lot of websites, your e-mail account, your webserver, network logins, etc. The list is endless. Also, you should use a different password for each account, because if you would use only one password everywhere and someone gets this password, you would have a problem: the thief would have access to all of your accounts.

KeePass is a free open source password manager, which helps you to manage your passwords in a secure way. You can store all your passwords in one database, which is locked with a master key. So you only have to remember one single master key to unlock the whole database. Is it really free?
Yes, KeePass is really free, and more than that: it is open source (OSI certified). You can have a look at its full source code and check whether the security features are implemented correctly.

KeyPass is a versatile password manager that types your passwords for you! Unlike other password managers that requires tedious cut-and-paste or drag-and-drop operations to enter your passwords, KeyPass types the passwords for you when a user-defined "hot key" is pressed. As such, it works with any browser or application, including web browsers, terminal emulators and corporate services. You are not limited to Internet Explorer alone!

KeyPass stores all your sensitive information in an encrypted database. The information is encrypted using 448-bit blowfish algorithm and a master password is required to unlock the information in the database. KeyPass is perfect for enterprise administrators to distribute passwords to users. Instead of forcing users to remember passwords, an administrator can store them in KeyPass, assign a read-only password and distribute them to users. In this way, users will be able to use the information in KeyPass, but will not be able to modify them. Only the administrator has the authority to update the database. Changes can also be seamlessly distributed to the users by making KeyPass synchronize with a reference database in a remote network share.

KeyPass is available in three versions:

Free Edition. This version has all the features of the Standard Edition except that you are restricted adding a maximum of 10 entries to the database.

Standard Edition. In this version, all features of KeyPass is available to you except for the ability to set the read-only password. This feature is only available in the enterprise edition.

Enterprise Edition. In this version, all features of KeyPass is available to you, including the ability to set the read-only password. This allows you to distribute KeyPass to users so that they can use the information stored in KeyPass, but will not be able to modify them. Only you, the administrator, have the authority to update the database.

KeyPass is a convenient tool which could be used by enterprise administrators to distribute passwords to users. Instead of forcing users to remember passwords for enterprise resources and applications, an administrator can store all of them in KeyPass, assign different read-only passwords and distribute them to users. In this way, users only need to remember one master password in order to access all enterprise resources and applications. In addition, they will only be able to use the information in KeyPass, but will not be able to modify them. Only the administrator has the authority to update the passwords in the database.
Passwords distributed to users via KeyPass can be updated automatically via the network whenever there are changes. To do this, the administrator maintains the reference copy of the KeyPass database at a particular network share (eg. \\SERVER\SHARED\KEYPASS). When the reference database is updated by the administrator, KeyPass will automatically update the local read-only database at the user's machine to the latest version.

The administrator can assign different views of the master database to different users. This involves assigning security tags to database entries so that only those passwords with matching tags can view those entries. This security mechanism is very flexible as the administrator is able to create different views for different users without having to maintain multiple master databases.
