This is the buggiest software I've ever used.
I upgraded from 9.0. It has been a nightmare.
I'm not running this on a sluggish machine -- it has a quad-core processor, 12 gb ram, an SSD for the OS and programs, plenty of fast drives, USB 3.0, and a new 560 NVIDIA card with 1 gb.
The program crashes every minute. Dragging an AVI to the timeline crashes it. Attempting to move an event on the timeline crashes it. Forget filters. And forget Blue Titler. It crashes the program, too.
It will not render MP2s. "An unknown error has occurred." It won't render an entire AVI, either.
It will crash so much, that it finally refuses to open the saved file or the recovered file. So you lose hours of work.
I finally said the heck with this and went back to 9, which works fine.
I am trying to get my money back from Sony, but I have never encountered a company that is so uncooperative in responding to support tickets or complaints. There are tickets from December that have not been responded to.
If you research this version on various forums, you will see these are not isolated incidents. Sony absolutely crashed on this one. I have downloaded all the latest drivers and software versions, and the problem persists. I even purchased a new SSD and a new graphics card. I have tried running the software with GPU acceleration and without it. It still crashes. I don't have time to waste or money to burn. This is supposed to be a professional product, but it is not. It is a huge time waster.
This software will not make you more productive. It will steal time from you and add frustration to your day.
Do not upgrade. This is a downgrade. A vicious, vile product from a company that simply does not care.
I have purchased my last Sony product.
